Actually, there's a great variety of them up in the states. Google the family (Membracidae) to see what you can find up there, the diversity is astonishing!

Yes, but very shy! ;) They're very interesting, every member of this family (Membracidae) has incredible ornaments extruding from the pronotum.

It's an extension of the pronotum, the top part of the first segment of the thorax :)
